finland update

so we have an apartment--link goes to blueprints in wax_jism's journal.  on september 1 we can move in.  the five days before that are still up in the air, but i'm sure we'll manage something.  and luckily, no more transatlantic mail!  they're going to let wax sign for it or. whatever it is she has to do.  we have to do.

she says we have to have a housewarming party "of course," because "that's what you do" when you move in.  it hadn't really occurred to me, but i guess it'll be nice to do.  i'll actually probably be overwhelmed.  meeting mace_m the first time actually almost overwhelmed me even though she is a very congenial and not overwhelming person, because of the swedish and finnish being talked and the changing scenery.  and i'm not sure how many area people there are i haven't met yet, but it's a good bet they'll speak not-english.  gotta get used to that, yo.

OOH ivanova. wax was trying to download the whole sequence of b5 for me. i haven't watched it since a weeks-long mad four-season BINGE the summer before my sophomore year of high school, so... that's about to be seven years, OUCH. but i fell madly in love. (i remember in spanish class composing a paragraph to the effect that the celebrities i'd most like to meet were the cast.) i don't know how her luck's holding though.

english club. greatness. i liked them, too.

I absolutely love the series, too, and back this winter I was watching it two-three episodes a night, until I hit the middle of the third season. I couldn't watch any more because with every Marcus scene I would get all teary eyed just thinking of his approaching death (in the end of the fourth season). I really need to start watching it again. Possibly with the help of some whiskey. *g*

The English club has a website/forum (http://www.webpage.co.uk/englishcircle/index.php), and you just might be able to access it. On some days I can get to it, and on some I can't, it's rather frustrating.
