the fucking cat (tea) barfed on the bed.  fortunately, i guess, she got wax's duvet and not mine, but they weren't really dirty; they've only been on for a week... so i replaced hers with, ahem, this hideous pink-violet-turquoise splatter-painted 80s-looking thing, and left mine in its lovely green citrus stripes.  also she got the fitted sheet*, so i had to replace that with something the color of pepto-bismol.

*finns are very proud of themselves vis-a-vis duvet covers instead of sheets, what with the no messy tangle of flat sheets coming off and getting the blankets dirty, when it's so much more efficient to wash the duvet cover than the duvet.

for all this, they don't have fitted sheets; they have giant flat sheets which inevitably come up on the edges, because they're not only not elasticized nor box-shaped, but the allowance round the edges that's meant to be folded under is not wide enough.

Sheets and pillows. Two things that it's very hard to find proper ones in Europe. I don't know why.

wax assures me that... that... um. that they do have fitted sheets, but she, personally, doesn't own them because... it's hard to remember this now because of the lack of logic... because she doesn't like folding them. because they don't fold neatly.

Riiiiiiggghhhhhht. Actually, the problem here is that you can't get regular cotton sheets, only Jersey ones.

i actually like the jersey ones, assuming they're still 100%... just not all the time. wax hates them, though. they're too coarse for her delicate skin.

I'm a tosser&turner, so I find that jersey sheets tend to bunch up and try and throttle me during the night.
