posts like this really scare me.

to save you the click:  a post of a new story in [livejournal.com profile] ian_pieter, a swimslash community, with the mood "sad," about pieter van den hoogenband's girlfriend.  the story concludes that they're cohabiting.  the poster concludes, "Sounds pretty serious to me. What do you think?"

i mean, jesus people.  i wish there were fandom police. i wish there were tests you had to take to be allowed into RPS.

Seriously, you ought to have to meet some sort of minimal reality-testing criterion.

exactly. i mean, it's also the fact that people like that are out there in the real world too. unidentifiable at a glance!

Amen.

I was chatting with my friend April and went "am I the only one who doesn't care if Pieter has a girlfriend?" Fangirls are so strange.

rps is iffy like that. a lot people hate it because they think it's immoral, and another bunch of people go way too far in it. i really don't see why they can't just treat it like 'normal' fan fiction. you know, as in fan fiction. just because they're real people doesn't make your stories real. dude.
