does xanax have a reputation as a happy pill?  it IS a simple tranquilizer, right?  it tends to put me to sleep, if i take a higher dose.

It puts me to sleep even if I just take a single pill (not sure about how many mg that is). My mum used to take xanax retard as a sort of anti-depressent, though, I believe. I hate using xanax, I've taken it maybe three or four times in my life. It makes me feel like a zombie, and it makes me bone weary.

the first few times, one pill put me to sleep. now one doesn't do anything that i can notice. but i took two the other day and they conked me out. it just seems like something that puts you immediately to sleep isn't much of a happy pill. i mean, you might be happier, you might stop being mopey, but you're ASLEEP, what the fuck good is it doing you?

Maybe the slow-release ones work differently. I can't remember my mum ever falling asleep because of them.
