staying up all night

...no. i'm not really staying up all night. i meant to beta for my k'sal tonight and start trying to fix the stuff wrong with the domlij i keep teasing about per her suggestions, but then a number of things happened. tried to read femme, got sidetracked to stupid mothafucka page that wouldn't load properly in netscape with the letters all overlapping each other and shit. decided to kill netscape. surfed about browsers. downloaded opera, discarded it because it was visually unappealing. downloaded ie6. spent a long time fixing up the preferences. and now... everything is shiny and new! the fonts show up differently, there are these little underlines that appear only when you hover over a link... it's just very, utterly spiffalicious. i can't believe i'm so excited about a new download of free software that i could've had at any point over the past few years. *shakes head* --isn't there a way to put a skin on ie? and if so, how?

also, my stomach's turning inside-out with hunger just now, but i can't eat (on a wild guess)(made on the basis of, you know, past experience). the return of the evil appetite problems. i can keep my temper--and my current weight--for sixteen more days (until i go home), can't i?

ok, translating " can you sing with all the voices of the mountains,/ can you paint with all the colors of the wind?" as "o unirte a la voz de las montanas/ y colores en el viento descubrir" strikes me as a bit odd. a rough, near-direct translation, 'cause i'm tired: "or [have you] unite[d] with the voice of the mountains and discover[ed] colors in the wind?" ok, see, the english has this nice metaphor going about doing stuff with the forces of nature. singing. painting. whereas in spanish, it's more of an observing thing, no? hmph. well, it still sounds prettier.

...i can't believe i'm thinking about this. ok. it must be past my bedtime. *checks clock* ...hahaha.

hmpf. what's visually unappealing about opera? at first, I was annoyed with the ad in the corner, but after a while I decided it was a small price to pay for...not having to pay. also, mouse movements. also, you can have all of windows inside opera if you want, although I don't know what the point of that is, since I haven't tried it. and there are skins for opera, I think. not that I know what the point of a skin is. I don't even have a skin on my winamp.

I've always thought IE was pretty unappealing, but that might be residue Bill Gates hate. what I liked about netscape was that you could make the taskbars really small and the window really big. you can't get them as small in O because of the ad.

that's what i didn't like, the bars taking up so much space. also, evidently you could skin it, but there was no quick way to figure out how and... *shrug.* the point of skins... um... i don't know. i like them.
