lucky thing me and [livejournal.com profile] wolfsage decided to start [livejournal.com profile] rosnguil.  not only have i seen a very pleasing wave of icons from the movie since then, now i've TOTALLY coincidentally stumbled on two other slashers who also live in turku.  one's not a fan, but she just read a bit of the slash, because i saw her in the comments to [livejournal.com profile] anglepoiselamp's story! i am all over this.  i haven't watched it since, what, january, but it's been sitting on wax's bookshelf being all tempting and now it looks like i might get to have a party and have people to squeal with while watching it.

Wheeeeee. *hyperactive bunny dance* This past week or so has been great for me - I've stumbled across not only one but two, or even more, lovely fandom people who live in the same city.

It's actually kind of odd that we never happened to talk before, as [livejournal.com profile] wolfsage has been a common friend to us, for who knows how long. :)

Squealing and fangirling is a glorious thing, and even more fun when you don't have to squee alone. ^___^

it is. it's been a little while since i've done any. the last coupla movies i watched were more the laughing or clutching wax's arm/hand/jacket hard enough to result in injury. like... collateral is slashy, but it's suspenseful and not all that happy. plus, not a cruise fan. saved and pulp fiction were hilarious, but contained nobody that i have a huge fangirl crush on. whereas gary and time both. OH YES.

Yes, movies with fangirlable people in them are essential. What would we do without them? :D

no, but i'm pretty sure wax has, when she was in here crazyfangirl phase over him. we don't actually even own m&c because of the lack of the two-disc box set with extras in, say, wiklund, or anywhere we happen to be. it always goes:

W: ohhh m and c. you know, i don't have that.
me: is it the box set?
W: no. it's a really vanilla disc too. i guess we should wait. these nordic discs ALWAYS are. [begin rant]

I have The Reckoning on DVD, so we could watch that sometime too, if you guys want to. It's glorious, at least in my opinion, and Paul gets quite slashy with Willem Dafoe. :D

Woe, I don't have the M&C 2-disc DVD either. I'm going to order it from cdon.com (Finnish/Swedish net store), once I can actually afford it. It's only 25 euros or so, though.

I'd just like to note that if I actually manage to make real living, breathing friends through lj, I shall sell my grandmother to it. I'm all excited about this!

Not to mention a possible new fandom and... heh, did someone mention Paul Bettany? *faints* Okay, my head has been in the anime bush for the past two years. But not by that much! Ashamed to admit, I've seen him in exactly one film. Which was A Knight's Tale... but hey, at least he's naked there!

This should turn out to be fun! ^___^.

got that too. we could add it to the list!

MMMpaul. um. yeah. PAUL.

excuse me--that's one place i do have a massive fangirl crush. yesterday wax called me to see the wimbledon trailer on tv from the other room and i leapt out of my chair and scrabbled across the floor cause it was faster than walking. then our conversation was like 'ee!' 'aaah! his little muscles!' 'aww!' 'they're so cute!' 'i know! he's so cute!' 'he is SO CUTE!' 'aaaaaaagh!' 'HELLO!' 'mnn! muscles!'

what is a chi, exactly? i studied japanese... not very hard... a few years ago. but, you know, not so much with the anime fandom terms, so.

::laughs:: I can do that conversation too. Easily! In public even!

what is a chi, exactly?

It's a great many things, to my limited knowledge... but depending on my mood, I choose to translate it as 'life energy' or 'blood'. White blood? That I'd like to see. I'm just quite obsessed with the color white, so this seemed like a good choice ^__^. Chi originally came from my old pen name, the story of which is long and rambling, but if you're curious I can try to make it make sense sometime ^_^.
