slash party yay. + cookie recipe.
23 Oct 2004 03:01 pmour slash party went even better than expected. we had lots of fun watching rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead and i, at least, really enjoyed
anglepoiselamp's copy of the reckoning. there was a lot of willem, and a lot of paul, and a lot of slashiness between them, and sad little faces, so that i was frequently forced to make whimpery noises and seize wax's hand.
we're definitely going to have to do it again soon.
and here's for everybody who's interested in my cookie recipe. i have already made the translations to readily-usable finnish measurements and ingredients for you.
5.3 dL flour
1 t* sodium bicarbonate
1 t salt
1 T* vaniljasokeri
2.5 dL butter, softened to room temperature
1.8 dL white granulated sugar
1.8 dL farinsokeri, packed
2 eggs
1 100-g bar dark unsweetened chocolate
preheat oven to 190 C. line baking sheets with baking paper.
combine flour, salt, soda, and vanilla sugar in a bowl by themselves. stir with a fork about 100 times.
beat the sugar into the butter. when it's evenly blended, add the eggs, one at a time. beat until fluffy.
add the flour mixture gradually, so it doesn't puff up and hit you in the face with a cloud of white. mix until blended.
break the chocolate into its squares. cut each square into quarters using a huge-ass, sharp cook's knife. stir into batter gently with a fork or a spoon or something (not a beater).
drop 16 cookie-sized dollops of dough onto the baking sheet a few cm apart using two teaspoons. dip your fingers in a little warm water and flatten and shape them gently. (if your fingers are dry they'll stick.)
bake 10-13 minutes, or until the middles are puffy and the edges are golden brown. leave on the tray 2 min, then pull the paper off the tray onto a drying rack, if you have one. don't mess with them until they're dry all the way.
*t = teaspoon = normal sized spoon. T = tablespoon = giant spoon like the one you eat soup with.
