dream contents included my mother and sister and i stranded at a conference somewhere, driving a roadtrip and stopping to buy food at a fruitstand, my favorite teacher from 8th grade and her daughter and son, a sort of rabbit-warren of interconnected rooms in a mansion that seemed to be hers; my favorite aunt and uncle in a new house on a little lake, with a giant circular driveway, and lying by the lake and blowing very hard at it, which caused a huge mushroom cloud of water to shoot up into the air and then come back down and get us all wet. and bodie and doyle, and doyle had an innocent identical twin from somewhere who he hated, and bodie was carrying the twin around and being affectionate and doyle was jealous and it was kind of like silviakundera's timesync story or uhmidont's 'ii.' hm. ::nose-wrinkle:: my ability to sleep for eleven hours is unparalleled. this song is pretty cute.

over 2,000 words today.

dropped the academic leave bombshell, and still no phone call from the parental units. but i've started putting things in boxes. just in case. haven't talked to carolyn, or washed the skirt (which has to be done by hand)--yo, maybe i should do that now. i forgot my medicine this morning, and packing always makes me jittery. i've taken down all the things that were around 9x11 or 8x10 and packed them. still so many shoes. and i can't leave my warm coats and sweaters here this time. two suitcases. oh, man. perhaps i'll have to ship something--i could do that, say, friday afternoon sometime. rm#1 still wants to take me out to dinner (belatedly) for my birthday. my tiara and the golden snitch, the lamp, a box of tissues, my planner, my wallet, a pair of gloves, a bottle of moisturizer, a roll of packing tape, a box of pretty buttons and pushpins and quarters, a handkerchief, and a spanish text are now the only things left sharing deskspace with my precious and her paraphernalia (disk drive, webcam). so much to remember, but i took my anxiety meds anyway, belated though they were, and ate some oatmeal, and i've calmed down somewhat.

oddly enough, i think i can be packed by saturday night. even friday night, if that became necessary. some things are gonna have to be mailed home, though. i've got some spare boxes, thank goodness.

hm. i've got... a drawer and a half in the dresser. in the closet, four pairs of jeans, one of khakis, three pairs of pajama pants. two winter coats, two sweaters, two blouses. also, slippers. that's got to go home. plus a phone, some toiletries. my largeish suitcase appears slightly less than half-full. we'll see.

and bedding, some towels and college papers, and a lamp are about all to pack that get stored somewhere around here.
