new desktop, anecdotes, and rambling

hmmmmmm! despite pms, am having a totally cheerful day and i haven't picked a fight with ANYONE, and i refrained from retaliating when my mom behaved bitchily! i've decimated a packet of bagels since saturday, though. well, no, i've eaten all five of them, though.

tatu are performing in eurovision--and it has to be a new song. i wouldn't have thought they wrote their own songs? but anyway, they're going to have to wear clothes and refrain from groping, and edit the smutty lyrics, said wax. those wacky latvians*! but she will watch anyway. maybe she'll remember to tape it.

earlier this afternoon, dad darted anxiously into the room and said aghast, 'what HAPPENED?' and i had no idea what he was talking about, but when i turned around i saw that right behind my chair, lillian's dresser was completely toppled over with all three drawers spilled out all over the floor. ahahah. i'd been typing away right in front of it and not noticed a thing!

good times, good times. hm, my system tray icons are messed up. need to fiddle with the control panel settings again--i have a new desktop, a still from lola rennt nicked from rightclickchick, which community is the coolest thing to happen around lj for quite a while. and this font,

finished the next four eps of six feet under half an hour too late. that half an hour represents my parents wandering around doing nothing as opposed to sitting down to eat dinner--which COULD have happened at any time as it was just leftovers. so now we'll have to go to blockbuster tomorrow. i think there are five dvds in the season, but it might be six. anyway, we can probably finish them by the end of the week and start on the rest of qaf, which they have at movie gallery.

mom wants to boycott blockbuster, because of their wacky fees and exorbitant fines, and the fact that what they call a two day rental is due 'noon of the third day,' only they count the day you rent it as the first day, no matter when you do so. we rented it at 5 o'clock sunday, and by their reckoning, when we left the store with it, we had already had it twenty-nine hours.

also, i will pay anyone who wants to kidnap my mom and sister until september all the money i have, which is unfortunately right now not quite two dollars.
