i checked out alejandro sanz and was extremely pleasantly surprised to discover this gem: him reading a neruda poem. i haven't read neruda extensively, but i love all of it that i've read. my favourite poem, "juegas todos los días", is from the same book as this one.

read it: poema xv ( from veinte poemas de amor y una canción desesperada). a translation (though it looks like an amateur one).

so for a week i've been trying to finish this story which is now at about 6000 words. and then i was thinking about the end of the wilderness prompt at [livejournal.com profile] pillarchallenge, and i remembered that discussion about the oh-so-beautiful romance novel cliché where two people get snowed into a little cabin in the mountains. basically the whole first scene wrote itself in my head while i was out walking the dog, before i could even get home.

wah! my compulsion to write only one thing at a time! but! deadline! scene fully-formed! angst!

also, we have three shows to watch tonight.
