this was totally the movie to see for trailers, though, and a summer weekday evening was totally the time because the theatre was deserted. we had primo seats though, so one of the two other couples were right behind us, but that was fine. oh! trailers! okay, first of all, maggie gyllenhaal in that world trade center crap. just the moving heartfelt music during the trailer, let alone the voiceover, was already making me want to stab things in the head. but then it was time for miami vice. so pretty and stylishly filmed, though not stylishly costumed! colour me excited. colin farrell! being slashy! pretty filming, saturated colours and lots of sunlight! i don't even care that i don't remember the show. then superman returns. yes, just... yes. how is kevin spacey so inherently awesome? another really well-made trailer. so very satisfying to see! and then. and then. pirates of the caribbean! "that looks like nine kinds of awesome," said my better half. "i think that means we should see it nine times in the theatre," i said. "i only saw the first one five times in the theatre and i'm looking to break my record." "that sounds good to me," she said, and we watched the rest of the trailer, gasping and grinning and in my case bouncing and squeaking and flailing, and then she said "yeah. nine times, definitely." oh, man. so excited.

this time it's really, really, REALLY summer. probably.

 
here's a crazy sandwich and several pictures of the river aura where it flows through downtown. oh, and some cobblestones - it's hard to express how special and wonderful i find all the cobblestones here. i take a little pleasure in them every single time i walk on them. this is really a gorgeous city to live in. it's hard to pick the prettiest place to walk every day. this icon is the result of the fact that i take after my mother so much as to be capable of being confused by the directions in a photobooth. fortunately the police station only needed two so i was able to keep the messed up ones. anyway, it's off to paris at about 5 am tomorrow. you kids be good, all right? ps. seekrit msg to aeslis: i think my original enthusiasm level for the cocco and kokia was too low. it is really, really, really great. really.
