either we've got some new neighbours who love asian cooking or some of our old neighbours have taken up the habit, and now the entire stairwell, but especially our floor, smells strongly of garlic, soy, and peanut oil, occasionally with an overpowering undertone of burnt (which still isn't enough to make it totally unappetising, though), almost every night. i want to knock on their door and beg. i know it wouldn't be that hard to get off my ass and get some recipes and cook some asian food - but (a) sans garlic it would smell and taste about 1/2 as mouth-watering and (b) i am lazy, and eating food always sounds like more fun than making it.
i bought an avocado at our grocery store a couple of weeks ago that was only €0,85, and it was actually halfway decent when i finally ate it - the difference was still noticeable because i suppose avocados really hate being shipped long distances to freakishly cold sunless climes, but once you mix it with lime and salt it's not as serious. i wish something similar to that would happen with garlic.
