left and right... face
22 Feb 2007 03:02 pmi got a bee in my bonnet recently about the right brain controlling the left side of the body and vice versa, and how everyone's face (but mine perhaps slightly more than others) is asymmetrical. so lately i've taken to covering half my face when i look at a photograph of myself to examine the halves separately, and allowing myself to imagine that the left side looks dopier and maybe kinder, but also sadder, and that the right side looks more intelligent and confident. it would be odd, certainly, if all my pathos were to be found in the left side of my face. still, it's kind of hypnotic.
it's back down to -22, but the daylight hours are lengthening and i'm experiencing a longing deep in my soul for new shoes, even though it's too cold to wear them if i had them, because i need to have thick wool socks over my regular ones. on the other hand, i bought a cute little black blouse last week. (it was probably picked out by the left side of my face. the right side was like, "elastic in the ends of the sleeves...?")
