It's lately warmed up to -6 C, for which I am very grateful, but it's still firmly in the cold category of weather. Sometimes, like now, I really miss having a car, and I would absolutely drive as far as Arken in this weather even though it's only like five blocks away (and in Alabama, I would routinely drive that distance; though if I had a car I'd probably go further away just for the soothing pleasure of driving). They have a computer lab there, for times like yesterday when the internet connection unexpectedly stops working here.

Today my doodling in class led me to making this... sort of... um. Fic plots in 30 seconds sort of thing, except in the form of scribbly chibis (the wall-painting story from yesterday). Yeah, I don't know, but it was a nice way to pass a couple of hours. The dialogue has, of course, been rewritten for brevity and... it's kind of surreal this way, actually...

Not exactly a glowing restaurant review

I forgot to mention that shiroi_chi and I were harassed for an extended period of time over our dinner in that rather nice Indian restaurant on the trätorg today. She says the guy might have just forgotten his medicine, as he didn't quite look homeless and didn't smell really strongly of alcohol. Anyway, he was a determined creepy old dude and the place was almost deserted, and the hostess had to drag up the wee non-Finnish-speaking chef from the kitchen to help throw him out. And she had to threaten to call the police. They actually had to try like three times before he left. Chi was sort of turning white with rage and speaking in a strangled way - she assures me she was saying things like "That's nice but could you please go away now". Yeah, it was bizarre. I'd never been accosted by random crazy people before Finland.

On the other hand, the restaurant's food was heavenly. I was very impressed with the hostess and the wee chef's handling of the situation, actually. ("Dammit, Jim, I'm a wee chef, not a bouncer!")
