I check the Life on Mars community periodically and skim through or read the new fiction, just in case something great gets posted. And although that is generally fruitless, it's just as well I do, because I get a lot of entertainment from the plots. Well, I went to check this afternoon for the first time since shortly before 2x07 aired, and had to go back past skip=200! I expected increased activity, but it's usually not a very active community. Wow, there went an hour. No new bookmarks, but I did find this:
BBC Press Office: Ashes To Ashes (not explicitly spoilery for LoM's ending).
It's the first official press release about the spinoff series which will star Philip Glenister as Gene (no Sam) and be set in the 80s. The amusing part was in another article (spoils the end of LoM series 2!) where the creator, Graham, said it would be like Life on Mars, except that it would be in the 80s and feature "real sexual chemistry" between the leads (the second of which will be female this time, and is not cast yet). So why does he think Life on Mars was so riveting? Or is it only "real" sexual tension if he was thinking "Now I shall write the sexual tension!" while he was writing?
