the wrong game
23 Mar 2008 02:09 amWe dropped into H&M on our way to the bus stop today after buying almost more Easter groceries than we could actually carry, and in among the cheap disposable shoes saw a pair of red canvas MJ flats with with satin ribbon edging that were incredibly adorable, and nearly perfect, but one size too small. (I rushed to the website, but they're sold out online.) My quest for the perfect red MJs continues unfulfilled, but I'm now also feeling extra sad and desolate, that tingling sense of loss and longing that comes from a near miss on a great find.
I'm also longing for some warm weather. I'm going to be wearing snow boots tomorrow on Easter because it snowed this evening and there's still powder on the ground. I'm also seriously bummed about this lame old world Easter stuff. I like a basket filled with Dove milk chocolates, gold Hershey's nuggets with almond, M&M's, and mini Reese's cups, and of those exactly none can be bought in Finland. Nice milk chocolate can be bought at any time, and at a good price, from Fazer, the native chocolate brand, but they don't even package any of their stuff up specially for Easter except for their nougat Mignon eggs and some heart-shaped boxes of Geisha truffles (which taste like Guylian shells). And to add insult to injury, there were no Ferrero Rochers left, and there were boxes of white chocolate Lindt Lindor truffles everywhere but no milk chocolate ones. The only chocolate we bought today was a little bag of Bacis.
