We saw Aquaman yesterday. I was expecting a good time with cheesy special effects and... honestly I was expecting it to be a bit bad, really. Like, fun and bad. But I was pleasantly surprised, and then kind of... a bit shocked? It was actually good. I think it was actually kind of... great?

chocolate covered pretzels
24 Dec 2018 10:52 pmI had a bunch of crushed mint chocolate candy to use up so I decided to make chocolate-covered pretzels, but then since mint isn't always to everyone's taste, I also made some dipped in crushed almonds and some dipped in sprinkles.
But essentially, it's just melting a mug of dark chocolate and a mug of white chocolate in the microwave (in 20-second bursts with stirring in between; apparently it's a whole thing - I just put
waxjism in charge of it) and then dipping and twirling each pretzel stick in chocolate before rolling it through a dish of topping and setting it on a sheet of silicone/parchment and chilling in the fridge 15 minutes to set. (After the 15 minutes, with the chocolate solid, I picked them up and packed them into tupperwares.)
I was worried they wouldn't go over so well because Finland doesn't really understand pretzels, and they were the only untested thing we brought this year, but the kids all loved them. They ate the entire contents of both tupperwares down to a small handful of short broken pieces in the bottoms in one evening - and I definitely caught Wax's eldest diety-offspring sneaking away with the whole tupperware in the crook of her arm a couple of times.
It is always nice to introduce a new and strange treat to an appreciative audience, I gotta say.
Also, the chocolate pretzels are addicting and the ones covered in crushed sugar and rainbow sprinkles are both fantastic. I used up two entire packages of colored sugar sprinkles on the cookies and pretzels combined, so I now know to order a larger number well in advance. (I think we're down to just one giant container of chocolate sprinkles now.)
