If all goes to plan, the city water person is coming to install a new water meter at our house this morning, and after that the plumber will be able to turn the water on to the new bathroom and kitchen on MIL's side for the first time!
So fingers crossed, we'll be scrubbing and vacuuming tonight and attempting to move the last of our stuff from its current perch at MIL's old flat to its new, equally temporary perch in her (packed-boxes-filled) wing of the house. Our side is already sealed off from hers with a big elaborate plastic door with a zipper, so once we get it clean it should be safe to breathe and eat on hers - ours is full of equipment and materials and sawdust, and will remain that way for the near future. They've got one and a half bathrooms and some kitchen work left to do there, and Wax and I have to wallpaper and paint before the electricity can be put in.
