Banichi's POV on the entire Foreigner series might be about as funny as All I Ever Needed.

It's possible nobody who understands both sides of this reference is around anymore. All I Ever Needed was Helen's hilarious remix of Nsyncgrrrl's unintentionally hilarious epic All I Ever Wanted, which was deep in a dramatic and emo teenaged point of view, and by using a different point of view, the remix highlighted just how funny the moody protagonists really were. This was the first remix I - or most(?) of then popslash fandom - were aware of (2001? 2002?), and predates the term "remix" gaining popularity, at least in my corner of fandom.

I went to check my recall of events just now at fanlore only to discover that there's not even a page for AIEW, let alone any mention of the to-my-mind seminal AIEN.

I did sorta wake Wax up to ask about it (except not the bit about why it was funny - she does need her sleep), and she agreed. So once she reads the Foreigner series that will be at least two. I suppose nobody who was active in popslash then has worked on that section of the wiki.

We thought we would be in the mood to cook latkes together yesterday, because it was Sunday and the first night and we often cook on the weekends. However, what actually happened was Wax got into a thingy of flow knitting again and didn't want to put the knitting down, and by the time we were like "Should we cook" we were both already hungry. So we had some delicious sandwiches with some black pepper chicken breast filet and sprouts and bakery bread rolls and leftover Moroccan carrot lentil stew.

We both have a three-day weekend next weekend though, so we are tentatively planning to make latkes then. Onions and potatoes will definitely keep that long, you can say that for them.

I downloaded an app that lets you prepay to mail packages at postal service points and it turned out that I didn't do it far enough in advance so we had to wait at the counter for the system to update so she could print the mailing labels. However, I also had two padded envelope letters to mail at the same time, and weighing and paying for them took up the time neatly.

The last time we went to the store there were like 3 separate layers of ice on the outside of the windshield, and also ice on the INSIDE of the windshield. I guess we need to clean out the garage and buy a heater thingy to defrost the windshield and start keeping Bernie the Berlingo in there in winter. In the meantime, he's got a fleece blanket on the windshield.

I put up our brass stars in the windows today. I thought we had like eight of them, but actually there are only five, plus one paper one. That isn't even enough for all the rooms! I had to choose between the dining room and Wax's office and there are no lights on the balcony. Last year we bought a light string for inside, but we were too disorganized to put it away with the other Christmas decorations and now I can't find it.
