I grew up min 5 hours by car from the coast, exposed to very little seafood, and I'm still picky about it and put off by the smell much of the time.

Our former tenant would fry fish every few weeks, and every time the smell would gradually start to seep through the party wall and I'd react by starting to think I was hallucinating it, forgetting every other time it had happened.

The Ukrainian sisters in law have to feed four little growing kids and two adult women with full time jobs, and I'm now constantly smelling frying onions and potatoes coming through our windows, which make me hungry instead of making me think I'm hallucinating. Wax went over to give back the microwave that the old lady accidentally stole and one was making pelmeni from scratch! Yesterday Wax got the gas grill working for them (with long distance tech support from both brothers). We haven't used this grill at all since 2020. 😂
