Working holiday

We're trying to finish up as many of the remaining remodeling tasks in the house and garden as possible. Wax only has two weeks off at a time, and almost all of the projects need both of us, so it's been three years we've been living with the house only mostly finished. So far we've

• put a threshold on the unfinished edge of the kitchen floor


• taken all the measurements for trim and lumber to put in the baseboards and doorframes missing in three rooms and the inside front door


• painted and wallpapered on the upstairs landing and inside the big wardrobe we built


• sanded the wardrobe fronts, which have been splintery rough-hewn the past 3 years, so we can stain them and put trim on it


• cleaned the attic and moved a bunch of stuff into it

Unfortunately, the bedroom and wfh office need their floors painted and that means moving all the furniture out, and there's a two-story wall in the stairwell that needs the wallpaper steamed off and two chimney walls to patch and skim coat with plaster, and there's no way we can finish those by the end of next week.

We've gotten a lot done and are feeling very accomplished, but we can't actually finish this summer.
