this story is for [livejournal.com profile] pixxers's birthday, even though it is now very late. for that i apologise humbly ♥. note: it can be taken, if you wish, as a sequel to her golden pair story one life.

He climbs the rest of the stairs slowly, until he stands finally in Takashi's doorway, feeling jetlag and his year in Italy and all the mental distance he has managed to buy himself slipping through his fingers.

*melts into puddle of goo all over sofa* Guh. You don't have to apologize - I'm so thrilled that you wrote this at all. ♥

That was absolutely beautiful, honey - and this is what I'll show the naysayers who insist that Taka is not interesting enough to hold Fuji's attention. It's not excitement that will hold them together, it's something a hundred times more important.

Thank you so much for this, *hugs you* it was definitely worth the wait.

not interesting enough to hold his attention! that seems silly since we see in canon that fuji is perfectly happy to hang around with taka, aside from his obvious concern whenever anything happens to him. the much more interesting question is what about taka does hold fuji's attention, if you have to go there! although personally i don't find it a problem at all. fuji is ineffable. ♥ i'm glad you liked it! happy extremely late birthday!

I wasn't really sure how Taka/Fuji would even work before I read this... I mean, you can see it a little in canon but this? They're so sweet! And Fuji is still so very, very Fuji, but also so much more human than I've ever read him.

if you can really see how taka/fuji could work for the first time from this story, then i can feel very accomplished! in any case, it's a wonderful compliment. i love fuji more than words can express, but writing his point of view was a bit torturous to say the least. :)♥ thanks for the feedback! i'm so glad you liked it!

Ooooooonghhh. (pathetic attempt at textually reproducing a keening audible component of internal joyous liquefaction)

And, and Fuji underestimated his worth to Taka-san, and, all the dreams skipped to established relationship, and, and, and the snoodling --

I am in a very happy place, and I keep thinking of the variation on Scarborough Fair's refrain that goes "Let every rose grow merry in time," because it seems to fit with this somehow.

:(( i've always been confused by the lyrics to canticle and scarborough fair. it drives me crazy listening that hard and not being able to pick out the separate lines of lyrics.

uhh, hahah, hi. thank you! my love for this pairing is great. it makes me extremely gooey and incoherent, really. in fact, it's kind of hard for me to picture first time for them because they just seem so incredibly fluffy and established to me what with all the canonical snuggling and whatnot. that's probably why it sort of skipped that part in the fic. :X i'm glad you liked it, anyway.
