yesterday daddy emailed me to ask what the name of my school was - you know, the one i've attended for two and a half years now. the one that is named after the city i live in so every package they send me has "ÅBO" written in the address, and i go to åbo akademi.
eta: on the serial comma or oxford comma, from the national public radio show a way with words. Finally, we offer this famous dedication, which appeared at the beginning of a book: "To my parents, the Pope and Mother Theresa." Nuff said.

Date: 1 Dec 2006 02:32 pm (UTC)and actually, this semester in vocal pedagogy, i have learned that 'shoudlers back' is not great for you. they should just be relaxed - unless you have some muscle tension issues that won't allow them to relax to the right place. in good posture, from the profle, your shoulders should align with the point where your skull meets your spine, your lumbar vertebrae, and your pelvis. i suppose that's more back than front. but we who tell people how to stand for singing have had to relearn the plan - no more saying, "shoulders back and down."
