done: two exams @ 5/5 apiece, 3 large projects (substituting for one exam), a third exam not yet graded
still to do: 30 pages of translation from norwegian this week (incl. tomorrow morning); one medium-sized project by thursday, after that one more slightly smaller; two class meetings' worth of grammar- and composition-related busywork, some by tomorrow and some by thursday
still to attend: 2 meetings of spanish, one of sociological methodology
after which, unconnected with school: christmas decorating and baking, christmas things to mail.
so that's why i haven't been online. after about one week of reading it in all my spare time i finished conflict and compromise in multilingual societies: finland, which was really fascinating, but which left me in the sort of state of mind that led me to compare my instant sugary choco-cappuccino beverage to the country of finland. (there's a socio-demographic element and a time element to the analogy, which you don't want to hear.)

Date: 11 Dec 2006 08:52 pm (UTC)it may look like more than it is due to my not explaining in detail what everything is... like other people's mileage for "medium-sized project" may vary. i mainly call this one that because the course is methodology exercises and there're only four, so each of them is important even if it only takes a couple of hours to do (i had to interview wax in swedish and then transcribe everything semi-phonetically using sociologists' special interview symbols that are meant to show how everything's pronounced and where people breathed and how long they paused and stuff XD).
and also the other two exams weren't this week or anything.
