Things you just don't expect to find yourself doing ever again: arguing the LOGIC of genderswap. Because I was like "I hate when the hair automatically." And wax was like "YES, I hate when the hair automatically grows - " "Why would you just - wake up with your hair longer?" Of course, the changes involved in genderswap are bigger, but hair has to be manually cut - "Women don't have naturally longer hair!" said wax. And then I was like, "Why did his eyelashes get shorter? Women don't have naturally shorter eyelashes! Eyelashes are not a gender trait." Wax corrected me: they are, and women have more of them. Okay, whatever. But then I was like: "Why would hormones control hair growth? ...Except they do." And then I laughed until I cried.

*faepalms* My sex change fic features hair growth. Mostly so Rodney can get fed up with it and chop it all off and John can make jokes about maybe keeping it so someone can make a toupee after Rodney gets changed back.

My boyfriend was recently telling me about some of his crazy ex gf's, including the one who believed that aliens had traveled back in time and altered early Western civilization so that we valued gold and would preserve it, because in the future it's used to power the alien spacecraft. I ended up in an argument about how that was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard because gold was an *element* and would therefore make lousy fuel.

Yeah. You are not alone.

My favorite logic problem in gender swap: When you change, howcome your weight diminishes? Shouldn't you have the same body mass? I guess that will depend on the logic of the guy either changing from his at-the-moment-status to a woman in a way that would be like a gender re-issuing but without the surgery, orthe guy changing to appear like he would have if he had originally born female, e.g. shorter in statue. Personally, I like the same-body-mass option ;)

Don't worry, my ultimate judgment of genderswap is based on a) the sex and b) the quantity of badfic!

Oh, I hadn't thought about that - I just assumed it was doing it as if he had originally been born female, and thus the hormones would act differently and he'd have, you know, less mass, and smaller feet, and so on. BUT NOT MORE HAIR, OKAY.
