Wax brought me donuts and the Potter book and generously said I could read it first... and I kind of don't want to, meh. I was like five chapters into Thorn, one of the older installments of one of my favourite fantasy series. I've only read it like six times before... and actually remember half the crucial plot points. Okay, I'm being silly. But nobody in their right mind would want to go from the relaxingly urbane and expert narration of Saberhagen's Dracula to Rowling. *sigh*

It's... it's worth reading. It's entirely different to the books that have come before; has a very different feel to it. Understatement of the century, I know, but still!)

It picked up a lot at the end, but she didn't stop with the clumsiness, the idiotic major characters, or the boring early chapters.
