Last night I dreamed you and mom were driving me, [my little sister], and [your exchange student] Lena through the countryside near your house, and it was really hot and grassy and summery and there were two giant crocodiles in the river. I was like, "Daddy, ALLIGATORS!?"

and you were like,  "Actually those are crocodiles from mexico." 
 
But then we kept going and saw lions and giraffes, and I was like, "What are these doing here? LIONS AND GIRAFFES DON'T LIVE HERE."
 
You said, "Well..." and trailed off uncomfortably and you were like, "evidently..." 
 
But I was all mad. I was like, "WE DON'T HAVE GIRAFFES IN ALABAMA!" then the car like, swerved off the road and climbed up an embankment which was good, because I was starting to worry about getting eaten.

that is a very funny dream.  It could easily be turned into a story.  I suppose you already turned it into a blog entry.  And anyway, maybe  they escaped from the Birmingham zoo.  Now how the crocodiles got here  I can't figure out.

maybe somebody has been genetically engineering them from cats in an  abandoned catfish farm.  If that's not it, then I have no explanation.
