I might have mentioned fonts before sometimes. I dig fonts. My last favourite was Sabon, a Garamond-based serif. My new favourite is Optima, an elegant sans serif and the typeface used on the Vietnam Memorial. Now I come to the point of this post: a rec! You can download Cosmetica, an Optima-clone designed for the purest of reasons (to include Greek characters, which it does, but you need hardly use them), for free here in the MgOpen font package along with a few other nice ones (I do quite like Modata as well; it doesn't say what it's based on, so perhaps it's original).
It's a beautiful day, about 20° (or in the low 70s F), and I've been dancing around to the Hush Sound, cooking, drinking in the sunshine and talking with my mother on the phone. She got a new digital camera for the first time since 2000 (I KNOW, right?) and, through no fault of her own, the LCD screen got broken when she had taken only four pictures. I wince dramatically at this because I've been jonesing wistfully after a new camera, and mine is only 2½ years old! Whereas hers actually cannot be unloaded by means of a USB cable o_O. Happy Mother's Day to her and to all you other motherly types out there.
