cimoreneUPDATE! I sudo apt-get removed it, then ran autoremove, then reinstalled it. Then I got the same error message, which said "Amarok: [Loader] Don't run gdb, valgrind, etc. against this binary! Use amarokapp."
But then I thought, maybe it means LITERALLY, so I typed "amarokapp" in the terminal and... it worked! \o/
And now it works from the launch menu as well. o_O
