maim, not kill
15 Oct 2008 12:26 pmSo, the dog woke me up trying to climb on the livingroom furniture in search of something. There wasn't anything there, and definitely not any sort of food. I still don't know what he was looking for. On the plus side, he didn't actually knock over or kill any potted plants this time. (He... might have maimed one.)
Then I checked my email and had one of those surreal experiences where someone makes a philosophical post inviting reply and you answer their question with a polite bit of brief rambling and then you wake up to find someone you don't know from Adam has leapt on the comment with a bizarrely and inexplicably rude and confrontational reply. I think I'm sensing anger, but then, I really can't see why, so maybe it's just one of those people who naturally enjoys being rude. Or possibly one of those people who phrases everything rudely without any particular intent. The bad thing is that when they do it in someone ELSE's journal, I can't really smack them back without good reason (like a political debate - calling someone on harmful behaviour or prejudice is usually necessary for me to be comfortable co-opting someone else's space for public confrontation: the hosts tend to dislike it.)
