I took a pretty awesome picture of the snow-and-ice-bedecked rosebush this morning, but then my camera kinda died and the picture was lost! So you get this instead.
Ciara is a delicate little princess and not at all cuddly except with her parents, while Leon and Loke are both squishy little snuggle bunnies. However, she becomes cuddly with the most familiar substitute as she gets sleepy. She refused to go into her playpen for a nap (three times) at naptime, and instead dozed in my lap demanding to be read book after book until she finally fell asleep, forcing me to wriggle agonisingly slowly out from under her and stuff pillows around her. She only slept ½ an hour on the couch, in the end.
Well, I guess reading isn't really hard. Unfortunately, I sat down with only a Finnish book the last time, and as I was laboriously pronouncing the first sentence, Wax was like, "You fools are hilarious because neither one of you understands this book that you're reading" so I made up a story to go with the pictures instead (it's harder to compose children's stories in Swedish than I might have thought).
composing a story in Swedish must have been very good practice then. You could translate some English-language children's stories for her. I have always liked the gingerbread Man story. Speaking of that, just this weekend I wrote a new riff on that one which will appear in a few weeks on the daily cabal. But there are dozens of good stories you probably know well enough to translate on the fly or possibly to make some written translations for a future babysitting event.
