ajodasso just posted this amusing little "Partner Meme" questionnaire... thingy. And as one of my favourite things to do is talk about Wax...

1. Where did you meet your partner?

Well, I first encountered her name in early 2001 when I discovered popslash, but then I forgot again. But in Jan02, she recced my hobbitslash and my Lotrips in her journal. I left her comments a few times, which she immediately forgot about without ever answering, so I was very much startled when she IMed me in March 02. Or you could say that we met at devon's house in August, when Wax first visited the US. We count our anniversary from August 30.


2. How long did you date before you got married/seriously got together?

It's perhaps impossible to define. I decided to move here in January 03, but with one thing and another, I didn't actually move in until August 2004.


3. How long have you been married/committed?

Cohabiting for 4 ½ years. I have legal permanent residence in Finland as Wax's partner as of 1½ years ago.


4. What does s/he do to surprise you?

Wax is supremely predictable to me, but sometimes she unexpectedly brings me chocolate, although of course we share it.


5. What is her/his best feature?

I would say something about personality, but I gather that this question is meant to refer to appearance only, in which case, it's hard to say, but she has enviably big, cat-slanted grey-green eyes, and also a remarkably cute button nose.


6.What is your favorite quality in her/him?

She's so essentially nice, even though she's snarky and misanthropic occasionally; but it's shocking to someone like me how she never holds a grudge, or blames people for anything. I call it her Fairness Kink.


7. Does s/he have a nickname for you?

No, not really, but she refers to me, not directly but in the third person, as Princess sometimes.


8. What is her/his favorite food?

Tea and chocolate - our mutual favourite food and favourite beverage. I mention tea first because I'm fairly sure we'd both choose it over chocolate. We always get funny looks when we order tea before the meal in a restaurant.


9. What is her/his favorite sport?

She cherishes a somewhat secret desire to ride horses again.


10. When and where did you first kiss?

I don't actually remember it but I'm fairly sure it took place under the roof of Wax's Homophobic Granny who now hates me in Jan '03.


11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?

I like to curl up on the couch with a marathon of tv and movies. That, and mocking other people. Oh, and going out to eat. Omnomnom.


12. Do you have children?

No, never! But we make quite a fuss over the dog and cats.


13. Does s/he have any hidden talents?

I don't THINK so. Wax: "I'm pretty talentless, actually." She does have some skills, like figuring out how to make Linux work on our computers.


14. How old is s/he?

Thirty-two, six years older than me.


15. Who said "I love you" first?

Certainly it was me, but I don't remember when it might have been at all. However, I was supremely delighted in 2003 one time when she told me that I was like her favourite cookies to her.


16. What is her/his favorite music?

Pop-punk. I think. But she always listens to her newest music the most, and generally to a random shuffle in between, without revisiting any particular old music very often except My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade when she feels anxious.


17. What do you admire most about her/him?

She's very... hardy. Her own special little kind of Finnish Sisu, tough, laconic independence, I suppose, though I (rightfully) make fun of Sisu in general; she can always make herself do something that she needs to do, even if it makes her scared.


18. What is her/his favorite color?

Muted greyish green.


19. Will s/he read this?

I think so, but she probably won't mention it, or remember it within twelve hours.
