Sneakers of the Day
7 Feb 2009 02:52 pmFirst, the women's "Tox Oxford" by Caterpillar (I nearly bought this style a couple of years ago, but then I bought my butterfly-winged skull Vans velcro sneakers instead). (Yes, that's Caterpillar as in the CAT, uh, bulldozers, or whatever those roadwork/construction machines are. They make a lot of workboots, and they branched out from there.)
Then "Isantimor" by Lacoste. If you don't mind that Lacoste's historical reputation is built on overpriced polo shirts (which would be called "golf shirts" or something in most of Europe I think) with a little alligator on the breast for the country club set, then, continued priciness aside, they've been doing a lot of nice, sleek, well-styled sneakers in the past few years with white and high-contrast bright-coloured trims. I couldn't resist the rainbows on these adorable jogging shoes. And you can't deny the coolness of alligators.
