Hi fleeps and dweeps! Fall is in the air: in my climate, time to make sure you have some shoes warmer (and more waterproof) than sneakers around before it starts snowing. So for the next little while I will be posting fall and winter boots instead of sneakers daily. It's not permanent, or anything. Probably I'll get bored after a while and start mixing sneakers in. We'll see.

Shoe consultant reminder! Got a shoe quest in mind? Need help navigating the ropes of shoe-shopping on the Internet? Drop me a comment and I'll happily spend some of my weekly shoe-store-browsing time budget on you instead of, uh, just aimlessly like usual, haha. Just because I'm sort of philosophically opposed to heels doesn't mean I don't look at them, save pictures of them and occasionally admire them. (It does mean I don't wear them and probably can't talk about their comfort or fit though.)

Date: 15 Sep 2009 11:41 am (UTC)These boots all the year except when it's too hot, a pair of running shoes specially fitted for my overpronating feet when I'm exercising, and the Birks on this page when it's too hot for boots. If it helps to know what socks I'm wearing, they're purple and black striped with little skulls on them.
Shoe consultant, tell me: am I Doin It Rong or does it just go with my outfit (jeans and a very sloppy hoodie from ThinkGeek, or a flannel shirt.)

Date: 15 Sep 2009 02:52 pm (UTC)I was hoping for something in a dark colour (blue/black) but with winter around the corner I am starting to get a little worried about the holes in my soles so maybe I should be less fussy.

Date: 15 Sep 2009 09:06 pm (UTC)These probably aren't waterproof really, although possibly they could be made waterproof? I just like them. http://www.mooshoes.com/products2.cfm/ID/332/name/Toematillo-Boot-from-Simple-Shoes/a/262 Simple "Toematillo"

Date: 16 Sep 2009 01:52 am (UTC)For the record, my usage scenario is that I'm walking 1.6km to work every weekday and by all accounts it rains a lot here. I wear jeans to work. And am vegetarian.
I bow before you, shoe consultant.
