Behavior Modification Bracelet
13 Dec 2010 02:59 amThat sounds like something from a pulpy slavery AU, no doubt employing some kind of telepathy or electric shocks or something, but actually it's a behavior modification technique designed to break unwanted habits by making you more aware of what you're doing.
Apparently they are passing out "No Whining Bracelets" to everyone at
waxjism's factory if they want them. Every time you complain, you move the bracelet from left wrist to right or vice versa. The goal is to leave it on the No-Complaining wrist for 21 days. (Why 21? I have no idea.) Now, obviously, Wax and I both instantly rejected this idea because we enjoy complaining.
On the other hand, I've got OCD tendencies and tend to pick at my face and cuticles, which can occasionally be quite painful, particularly in Finland's dry winter when my cuticles and nails are extra-vulnerable. So I decided to try it (with a rubber band). In the last 6 hours I've had to switch wrists 14 times. -_-
