cimorene: cartoony drawing of a woman's head in profile giving dubious side-eye (singin in the rain in a flat)

The first one is a felted tam that started out the size of a large tote bag, so it took a really long time to crochet. It's actually quite pleasing now, but it's just BARELY too small - a cm or two. I can get it on, and so can Wax, but pulling it over the ears is a bit painful, which is obviously undesireable. We both have unusually small heads though. IDK, I may snip the bottom in a few places and crochet-darn-embroider-whatever in the gaps?

The other one said in the pattern that it was supposed to be a sea urchin, but it's more like a sand dollar, as [personal profile] pierydys pointed out (you can see better in the other pictures). Forest Tam | Silver Sand Dollar Tam

if you get the small one soaking wet you should be able to stretch it out a little, maybe half an inch to an inch and let it dry.

well, it won't stretch MUCH, but if you have something to hold it while it's drying it should be okay -- a big tin or something would work great. Get it sopping wet all the way through, stretch it out and then put it on a round thing about the dimensions you want it and leave it there until it's dry all the way through.

I haven't felted much crocheted work but it seems like it's worth a shot. If not you can cut it like you mentioned. I've had it work with knitted stuff though.
