Funnily enough, one of the dyes was darker and the other was lighter than I'd imagined.

They both look quite a bit lighter in sunlight. Wax's will fade fast for sure. I'm not sure it didn't fade during the 8 hours she was at work...

That is the trouble with the candy-bright dyes. They both look lovely, though!

Did you layer colors, or just do one go? I'm trying to figure out if I can layer, or if doing one color first would saturate the cuticle too much for the second color to take.

I think everyone's cuticle is different! The only way to tell is to try it. I have gotten a successful semi-take from a second color in the past, but there were like 2 weeks between dyeings that time and the second color did a) show up different (because of mixing with the color underneath) and b) fade much quicker. Same on Wax's hair which has a far different cuticle, except the mixing was much more profound there, and the fading even faster.
