My very favorite ink to write with is this Sailor Shigure, a navy-blue-like deep purple from the Sailor Seasons line that I have found to be beautifully juicy and rather lubricating to all the pens I’ve put it in. Pictured with a Kaweco Brass Sport with EF nib. Dip pen & brush also used.

Shigure is a deep, businesslike, rather traditional color as an ordinary writer, but one that is nonetheless quite unusual, as most of the blue-black inks you see are far less blurple than this and also typically less saturated. The shading is lovely to look at, but as with most dark inks, not so dramatic as to be distracting when used for ordinary writing. The broad italic nib shows, though, just how vivid it is.
It also has an interesting sheen - a hint of that red tone that many blue inks get, but mostly gold.
