redecorating with Dougie

waxjism is working this weekend so Thu/Fri were our pseudoweekend. We took advantage of them to take everything out of our long wall of livingroom bookcases, moving them over 25 cm, and then reassembling them with the corner shelves in place so that we could move Doug "Dougie" Jones the giant monstera (he's a venerable specimen over 20 years old and of a rare variety of monstera that is now near-impossible to buy in Finland), our MVP (Most Valuable Plant), from his prior location by the balcony door to the corner shelf - here documented by Wax on Twitter.

This also meant moving all the shelf contents of books, files, optical media, stationery, knitting supplies, etc, plus the stereo and three computers. That took about a day and a half, during the middle of which we saw Endgame with BIL & two triplets (now 11 years old and probably our best fannish movie-watching companions aside from their dad, lol. The third triplet doesn't like the movies and their older sister does, but she's 14 and is in a competitive hip hop dance group.)



Pride of place suits Dougie, but he has moved farther from the windows and his leaves are facing the wrong way now. Since it is nearly summer, we fortunately have six months to assemble a trellis behind him and rig up a plant light for next winter.
