There was a chunk of time when I didn't remember to write down the things I watched this year, but I've attempted to remember and piece them together from the streaming history and a few notes I have. I have an extremely limited attention span for watching things and often disengage and read or do other things when people are watching things around me (although when I need to get knitting done I put things on to keep me occupied, but I don't count rewatches, YouTube, or things I tried and quit in disgust on the below lists).

The ABC Murders as in the miniseries? We watched that over the Christmas too, I thought it had really strong performances but the script was kind of. Meh. Like, it didn't give me enough to really chew on to solve the mystery by myself and didn't really do anything interesting with the social tensions it presented other than use them to contextualise Poirot's flashbacks. (And the flashbacks themselves didn't really present a compelling mystery, they were kind of just a backdrop.)

I also liked Miss Sherlock. Better than BBC Sherlock, at least :D Nice to see a show take an aesthetic I liked and actually pair it with scripts and performances that entertained me.

I have strong feelings about the recent spate of Christie adaptations and the screenwriter, Sarah Phelps. She's a competent writer who is doing the things she's setting out to achieve, but I think fundamentally her taste and mine are... very opposed. And... I hate BBC Sherlock with a passion, so I wouldn't use it as a comparison. I enjoyed Miss Sherlock to a point, but that point was... maybe halfway through the season or so? And the end completely destroyed my confidence in the writers' choices. Miss Sherlock s1 (spoilers) 15 Mar 2019
