we stan a medium green
15 Sep 2020 11:33 amIt seems that a plumber might come before October after all. The carpenter, who has been here several days, talked to them last week and several times this week. I think he's negotiating when they might be able to spare someone for a short while based on exactly how much stuff there is for them to do. I suppose if it really is a very quick job for them that's a plus on their side so I can't begrudge this, but on the other hand it's a bit annoying if you can really get a plumber faster invariably by having a carpenter be the one to call for them... .
But the tile backsplash is nearly done and the counters are in place! And Wax and I finished painting and wallpapering in the kitchen too, so it's almost done except for the electricity and plumbing.
We had to buy more paint for the livingroom because when we initially painted it, we had left one wall for wallpaper, but when we recalculated last week we found out we don't have enough wallpaper to cover the whole wall. We're going to have to use the wallpaper to make accent panels instead, and we couldn't match the wall color because we mixed the paint ourselves, impromptu (which is fun but obviously not a good idea for color matching). We're very excited about the new shade, which is a lot greener (our quote of the month is now "We stan a medium green"), but unfortunately it's dark enough to need a minimum of three coats (we might have to go back again to buy more of it...).
Interestingly, Saturday made the third time we ended up picking a paint color from Teknos because we couldn't find one we liked enough from the brand of the paint we were buying. (In the case of Tikkurila, they have the Symphony color system, which has nearly every shade you could want, but you can't get chips of all of them in the store because that would be way too much paint and paper, and we wanted to compare physical paint samples. The endless scrolling is fun though.)
