ELECTRICIANS WERE HEEEERRRREEEEE!

We just walked round the house with them and they said they should be able to come Friday or next Monday and that then the whole thing could take about a week, so I assume it could actually take two weeks, which... well... could be worse... I guess. It is what it is. And they can at least do the upstairs first, so we should be able to go a bit further with moving in.

(The plumbers still haven't connected the stuff in the downstairs bathroom though????)

I know, it hardly seems real!!! I want to cry. I guess we have to ask Wax's brother to ask the GC for an update on the plumbers. It seems like maybe the substitute plumber was just for the kitchen. The builder had told me he was going to move the fixtures into place and just leave them so the plumbers could hook them up though, and he didn't do that before he stopped to wait for the electricians... so I assume he had a reason. Gosh this is tiring. I wish we had a pet extrovert in the house.

Dealing with contractors is totally a "squeaky wheel gets the grease" affair. My husband of 25 years is an electrician and I know exactly how frustrating this all is. You would think your builder could help with riding herd on the plumber! Definitely use every contact and trick you have.

Hang in there. So much progress already!

What did you decide to do about the washer?

We're going to use the small one for now and hopefully hook up ours in the basement, if we can get it there (a door has to come off first). Maybe in the future we'll be able to get a front-loader that can fit through the door, though.
