He seems to have connected the water in and out for the sink and toilet and there's a drain trap and a washing machine outlet - maybe everything, although the washing machine supply isn't hooked up and as far as we know, the water isn't on yet. Anyway I'm so relieved I could cry, even though the electrician said 'early next week' and it's now Wednesday afternoon (he seems to be a very earnest young man and probably has had something else come up, but I guess Wax may have to call tomorrow).
Unfortunately I guess I need to call and try to get a veterinarian checkup for Snookums too, but I guess it's time to switch to a vet that's a lot closer to us here anyway. I'm really not feeling mentally prepared for a whole new interaction on the phone in Finnish today, and it's pouring rain and we were planning to run errands in the late afternoon after Wax gets off work. Yesterday I ended up taking a benzo because of limited-symptom anxiety attacks due to government websites fucking with me when I was trying to log in to send a message to The Government and I put off the other phone call I was supposed to make until today, but I'm definitely not feeling two phonecalls today.
Still though, that much plumbing is a big deal and probably makes up for the rest... except...
We still don't know when it will be done, if it's done, what remains to be done, and if/when he plans to come back and we still don't have the means to contact him!
We both tried to say hi; he answered Wax and apparently didn't hear me (and then I retired in confusion, I know, but I'm just not feeling Up To It today!!!), but we didn't go as far as directly asking him to tell us when he was done and what he did and what his future plans were, so he just disappeared a bit ago before I could catch him, and without saying anything to anyone, taking all his tools and driving away in his van without talking at all, so we didn't manage to ask him about our radiators, for an update, or for contact info. Also the last time Wax had to call the contractor to say we couldn't contact the plumber and could he check for us, since we didn't even know his name let alone his number, the contractor was like, "Geez, can't either one of you even talk to each other?!" so having to come back with the same problem is probably going to make him tear his hair out. Perhaps deservedly. And, like... I relate to the plumber if he's shy, but we need to know what is happening with our house!
The government website only had the opportunity to fuck with me because I made the mistake of programming my phone to unlock by fingerprint a few years ago. It seemed convenient! The face recognition doesn't work well in the dark! But as a result of the phone having my fingerprints, my bank app signs in with a fingerprint (I could have denied it the right to do this, and Wax says "I just told mine no!" because I obviously should have defaulted to that since there's always some horrible cyberpunk dystopia effects waiting, but I didn't think of it in the moment!). So now that I've been using my hands to work constantly, the skin of my thumbs and forefingers is so torn up that my phone doesn't recognize them anymore and I had to reset them in the phone's settings. Doing that pinged an alert in the bank app, so when I tried to sign in to a government website, it queried the bank app for identity verification and returned an error because the bank app was like "Fingerprint records have changed in the phone. Log in using pin? Please turn them back on in the app settings." So I logged in with my pin, which was fine, except the government site gave an error even though the bank app was fine. I turned fingerprints back on in the bank app as directed, logged out and back into it to check, and it worked with no problems, but the government site STILL was giving me the same error. I turned everything off and back on and cleared the site's cookies, but none of it worked, so I sent a bug report to the government's signin service. Only then Wax suggested I try with another browser and I downloaded a second browser just to check... and it DID let me in. So I suppose the problem was cookies after all, just not cookies stored as the site I was trying to get into? Anyway, I accomplished my mission, but I'd already had plenty of time to panic by then.
