We cleaned floors and mopped downstairs today and that took a lot of energy. It's been a very long winter during which we have not moved all the shit out of the way that would be necessary to fully sweep and vaccuum when everything is so crowded (due to the renovation being like halfway done and our inability to fit all our stuff in the current storage solutions).
And! We put up the cat tower in the livingroom for the first time here in our new house; we had almost decided not to use it anymore, due to the cats basically only using it to perch on, but Snookums was pretty excited to see it up again actually. It prompted some playtime (before he got tired and went back to bed).
As
waxjism said, we want to give Tristana a sort of 'soft landing' before exposing her to the full spectrum of... dust bunnies and clutter, I guess. I was a little concerned because she's so tiny still - she was the runt of the litter and she's still about a week behind her siblings in size and she was clearly smaller than them; and she hurt her hip a month ago, so even if it does seem fine she might experience some long-term effects or it might indicate a tendency to clumsiness. Anyway, it's probably irrational, but I did have a kind of sense that... with too much clutter she might get lost, or at least find some new creative way to hurt herself.
We still have a week to do the upstairs, though it's much neater up there.
