I mentioned making icons for Wax before, but I made some more of them today, and before that, I felt a bit sad looking at all the ones I made her last week, so I made some new ones for myself too. In general I am proud of this accomplishment so I'm going to post them all, rather than wait for her to post something to her blog again and assuage my anxiousness to see her use them that way. She's uploaded some of them, but not all of them, anyway.

Yes, when I started looking at the modern art at first I was like I just want to make ten or twenty of these. And at first I was like oh no, I have to pick just one favorite :(. But then I remembered I still have 100 vacant icon slots so I can upload as many as I want!

I love Bauhaus posters because it's like I can both ironically AND unironically love them at the same time? Like I love it, and yet I find it very funny. It's great.

The overall palette of my icon choices vs Wax's is very funny in that way. Hers is all earthy and muted tones like William Morris wallpaper and mine is all pop art colored... even though Arts & Crafts (and William Morris) is actually my favorite style (of architecture and furniture) and Bauhaus is hers.

I noticed that that one had a much bigger and brighter Mood when I was making up this post. Probably because they represent my favorites/highlights from quite a long period of years of icon-making vs. the relatively narrower palette of recent interests in the new bunches. I love all the colors, but I still gravitate towards ones that look like a handful of Skittles and M&Ms.

I do too, but that's actually the only one in the bunch I didn't make! I downloaded it in 2009 from an iconmaker named "forceiswithyou" on livejournal via an icon community (?).
