Cat separation and divorce

Anubis escaped for the first time since he came back here from his vacation with the breeders and attacked Tristana again about a week ago. She didn't get seriously hurt - a couple of scratches, but no bleeding - but she peed on herself from terror again.
It's hard to see how this could work out currently, especially because we've so rarely encountered a cat with such a single-minded hate for (violent intent towards?) one specific other cat. So feelings of helplessness come and go. But I try to remind myself that he will definitely have a big change once he's fixed and that we still can consult the cat behaviorist then, so we aren't all out of options.
But as long as they have to be 100% isolated from each other the house has to be divided in half, and every time we spend time together there's a cat without a human. Now, sometimes Tristana can be quite content with Snookums instead of us - sometimes they prefer it. But Snookums isn't always willing to stay with her (if the sunbeam is elsewhere, or it's nice and warm in the kitchen, or whatever). And both Tristana and Anubis are needy little twerps who get bored and lonely really fast and start complaining and scratching at the door after sometimes as little as five or ten minutes behind a closed door without a human.
So Wax has been sleeping in the dining room with Anubis since January except for that brief vacation.ðŸ˜
Tristana has two baby siblings now, and so Anubis will stay with us at minimum until they are old enough to separate from their mother so that she can move back to her foster family. She's a bit delicate and doesn't need this rowdy troublemaker around. And the breeders won't have a chance to evaluate if he's mature enough for breeding until then, anyway.
