See, this right here is exactly why I think the music industry - independents included - are WAY overreacting about the whole music-sharing thing: every time a friend of mine finds some new music they love and then spreads it to me, I almost invariably go out and buy the CD (yes, even if it's independent and really hard to find), which I would never have done if someone hadn't shared the file with me. Hence, profit to the music industry that they would not have had were it not for filesharing. I'll be sure to hit you up for it next time I see you on IMer.

I'm sure there are people who don't look at it that way, but I do. It's how I ended up buying albums by Lucky Boys Confusion, Backdrop, John Mayer, Susan Tedeschi, Joydrop and Nelly Furtado, among others :)
