Umm... Yeah, hate to say this, but me too. I am not too fond of Jane Austen or the Bronte sisters. Nor Dickens. And I am American, not English, so what is my excuse?? lol... Although, I adore Pride and Prejudice. Especially Mark Darcy.... *starts drooling very un-lady like* oops. Sorry... Mmm... Colin Firth.....

BUT I am not a total illiterate. I ADORE books, all types, except Gothic novels and such. *thinks of Emma and shudders*

Oh dear no, the Bronte's can't be put anywhere near Jane Austen. Brilliantly witty social commentary does not need to be bothered with melodramatic repression.

I ended up writing a rather long paper on Jane Austen in high school, it turned out to be a lot of fun because you read up and catch all the little things you missed the first 40 or 50 times through the books.

40-50 times? Ack! To each their own. *smiles* And I have to admit, if you were able to read those books 40-50 times, you have my admiration. ;)

I have to admit, I did not even like P&P for a long time. Years, actually, after I had my first encounter with the story is when I started to like it... Or Mr. Darcy, rather. ;)
