all the red white and blue out there today is freaking me out. also the people who, you know, are talking about everything that happened that day (over and over again), people not even directly affected who were terrorized to the point that their lives stood still, people who think the whole WORLD stood still, and maybe still is.

am just baffled. baffled. i'm not insensitive to tragedy, i'm not saying that it doesn't MATTER because it affected other people and not me. but i'm just not so terribly concerned. we've bombed the hell out of them by now, killed at least as many civilians as they have, and completely changed life for muslims all over the world but particularly in the USA for the worse. have we our revenge? yes. we have.

*nods* I completely agree with what youre saying.

I've been accused of being insensitive before because I said "If that happened in any other country in the world, it would be a short blurb on the evening news and thats it." Tragedies happen all the time, huge earthquakes, train wrecks, bombings, etc. and where's the fucking benefit concert for their victims?

It makes me really sick that the huge losses of life in other countries are just important enough to have a small sentence that floats across the bottom of the screen on CNN, but the whole 9/11 thing is something that no one can stop talking about.

Its time to move on, and by moving on that doesnt mean having huge Oscar speeches about it, superbowl halftimes dedicated to it, and TV specials and books on it. Thats actually called LINGERING.

Thats my 2 cents anyway.

I don't know if i'd call it bigotry. It's just that it's something that actually happened in our home country (the first major attack on our mainland). It's just like things that happen at your school. Everybody on campus talks about it for months, while it might have a paragraph in a major newspaper. That's my opinion, but what do I know...I'm just a conservative from Kansas :).
