my motivation is slipping, slipping, slipping into... oblivion?

1. skipped logic yesterday because can take the notes faster on my own.
2. skipped japanese today because i haven't done the homework and in class i won't have the chance to. will do both now, i presume...
3. coded webpages instead of working all week, and
4. my favorite aunt and uncle are coming to see me this weekend. there will be no contra-dancing, but i will get to meet fuschia, hopefully.
5. when i get home today i need to start writing.

my novel for novel writing is going to be a meta-novelization of the myth of hades and persephone transposed onto a grungy near-future with a lot of twists. persephone is going to be mostly but not entirely sane and she is going to be both herself and hecate (which i see some support for in mythology and the evolution of myth--). i'm thinking that there's going to be more than one version of hades too, in a time-travel sense.

anyone fascinated by this myth, please give me your thoughts on it. i'm struggling with my intended themes just now.

and lastly, i love wax_jism sometimes more than life itself. this is nothing new. what's surprising is that my affection isn't greatly lessened by her having gotten a job... something of a relief, though.

OH MY GOD that is my favorite myth, and I've been obsessed with Greco-Roman mythology since kindergarten!

I guess there was always some part of me that wondered how much it was a kidnapping and how much Persephone allowed herself to be taken - the whole thing with the eating of the pomegranate seeds, I mean, she was the child of a deity, she had to know on some level that it would bind her there. Then again, maybe I was just a really twisted little kid.

You'd better be posting this badass when you write it!

You might not remember this, but the first piece of my writing I ever posted on livejournal was a paragraph that was bugging me, and you offered some advice (which I'm not sure I ever thanked you for, so thanks!)... I don't think I ever mentioned it, but that was a short story for my Creative Writing class, and the assignment was to write a piece relating somehow to the theme or general idea of an at-least-fairly-well-known myth. The myth I picked was the Hades-Persephone story, and I thought it came out pretty well (despite having no real connection to the myth unless you're thinking in WAY abstract terms), though my prof hated it... yeah I'm shutting up now, sorry :)
